From Caraid McGinty <CaraidMcG@hotmail.com>, sent 2016-02-23: Hello all, As many of you know I am a debater in grade 12 at Halifax Grammar School. For the IB program I am required to do a large project. It has always been a dream of mine to run a tournament and I decided that this would be the perfect opportunity. The goal of this tournament is to raise funds to help future debaters go to nationals, as I know it can be very expensive and it has always frustrated me that every year people have to drop out because of costs. In order to help achieve this goal I need coaches to send participants to the (newly created) Halifax Grammar School Invitational! This tournament will be on the 5th and 6th of March (Saturday all day and Sunday morning) at Halifax Grammar (945 Tower Rd). Juniors and Seniors will be randomly partnered because I believe that it is a good learning experience for the juniors to work with a senior debater and there is a lot seniors can learn from juniors. There will be awards but I want to keep this tournament as friendly and welcoming as possible! Food will be provided. Registration fee will be $25 per person and this money (once costs are covered) will go to the fund for future nats debaters. All in all it would be great if I got as much support with this as possible as I am running this as a student and it is for a good cause. Please send as many debaters as possible and come out and judge! If you have any questions feel free to email me at CaraidMcG@hotmail.com. Please confirm debaters numbers (because it’s randomly paired you do not even need to have teams!) and how many judges you can send by March 2nd. Thank you, Caraid McGinty -- From Caraid McGinty <CaraidMcG@hotmail.com>, sent 2016-03-04: So excited for tomorrow just emailing to clarify final details!
